It's often difficult to truly empathize what one might be in another's eyes. A person's words may be loud, but actions undoubtedly louder, especially when those actions contradict the words.
While we often look to the past with a sense of better times, it's sometimes even more common to remember the worse times with a more detailed recollection. Hindsight is 20-20, after all.
